All right! We have decided that... The tournament will be happening. It will be called Quake Live Championship (QLC for short). It is expected to run from June 23rd to July 14th (of this year, for obvious reasons). You can register here for the Competitive stream (single-player; Duel): goo.gl/kTTQcsYou can register here for the Casual stream (team-based; Clan Arena): goo.gl/ftN8tTThe main Competitive gamemode that we will be running is Duel. For now, we will only run Duel (so no team-based games) for the Competitive stream. For the Casual stream we will have Clan Arena. A reminder: you MUST have a full team of at least five players to be able to compete. You will be allowed to bring up to two backup players in case of emergency. Only one person need sign up for the whole team. If you would like to participate, but have no team ready, then have no fear! We'll hook you up with a team of people in the same straits. Word of caution: if too few teams sign up, or too few people are signed up to make enough teams, they will be cancelled. The reward? I mean, why step outside of your comfort zone? We will be offering Premium/Pro membership tokens as the proverbial carrot on a stick. These will go out to the top performers in the Competitive stream. We will be running open public servers at the end of the week for anyone registered with QLC. These servers are provided for you to have practices on, and/or just to relax and have fun on. This is open to ALL Quake Live players who are interested, not just <DNA> members or members of the Drunk clan. Right now, our servers will be based in North America, so anyone outside of NA may experience high ping... Nevertheless, everyone is welcome. I signed up for Duel, but the "team (DNA)" will have to coalesce on this one in order to do any CA. I'm down for CA, so if anyone else is (DNA), let me know and lets get a team together!

I'd love to join team DNA CA if you'd have me Gangland. Even though I ping 80+ on the west coast and if I'm not mistaken you ping 80+ everywhere except the west coast. It's all for fun though so I'm down no matter the location or ping.
It would be cool if our team either had an alternate or two or maybe I should be the alternate because I can be available most days of the tourny but I'm not sure if I can guarantee all of them. I'd for sure like to play a game or two though if possible.

Just a quick request, if I may impose it on you guys...
If someone could go through the rulebook we have for players, and keep an eye out for anything that seems weird or unfair and let me know, then that would be much appreciated.
In particular, we got some negative feedback about the "5 overtime" rule for Duel... If I could get any opinions on that, you will have my eternal gratitude!

I decided to get rid of all overtime restrictions. There are now unlimited overtimes for all matches.

It all looks good to me. Don't let the ESR guys troll you. Half of them are 14 with no GF and major masterbation problems. 5 rule i get though. Kinda like "what if Evil and Cypher went 5+" kinda thing. Will be practicing daily. Join me, and watch on twitch.tv/ganglandoneup if you can't make it! |

Thanks gangland! It really means a lot  I did hear a fairly cogent argument against the five overtime limit though, and decided to change it. If the overtimes get too long, I think we'll have the referees deliberate on the issue separately and come up with a solution on the spot (I don't really have anything better at the moment). I mean, how many duels end up going to even just one overtime anyway... (though I did once end up going to the seventh overtime with a friend... we were real idiots) |

I was gonna stream some/asmuchasican of the tourney if ok? @swampy says that Drunk has a twitch channel so maybe we doubleteam the coverage if someone else could stream with Drunks channel too?  |

That's perfectly fine. We'll have about two servers running at the same time anyway, so the more people who can stream the better! I do ask that if you're streaming any matches from quarter-finals and up that you try to record and get it on YouTube. If that's not possible, then we'll find a workaround (but by all means, stream when you feel like it!)

Well I found out last night that I need to upgrade my internet if I want to play and stream at the same time. I have 3down right now, and was pinging 150 to the LA server while streaming  /. Prolly gonna look into that today. |

Sounds like a plan! Thanks swampy! To be honest..The drunk channel twitch can be used by anyone that wants to give it a go..I gave gangland the info.. or if you are an experienced twitch user..PM me your e-mail and I'll send you a key granting the use of the channel for you to stream to. I find that if you're going to play and stream.. It's going to slow you down and to be honest twitch vod's are rather flaky. Best thing is if someone is allowed to spec ( and sometimes the rules disallow specs) That you spec from the "follow killer" mode .This will let everyone playing get to be seen.. As said..Send me any demos and I'll have them rendered and youtubed..  |
