England vs France today.

Not looking forward to the match if i'm honest, more looking forward to the fridge full of beer and cider.

I think we will defend pretty much the whole game and hope we can grab a goal on the counter attack.

I hate defensive football, it really annoys me.

So no doubt I will be moaning at the TV for the full 90 minutes

If it comes to defensive football, i think that title is easily won by NL. When they entrench themselves and play bunker war, well, thats when i look for something else to do lol. Just too many faults, especially when van Bommel is in bloodlust mode and pretty much destroying the midfield. Part of the reason i dont watch much football anymore is for example this, you can play bunker football because its effective, but its really not fun to watch. I remember the old NL team from the early 90s, Ruut Hoolit, Marco van Basten, Frank Reikard, it was a marvel to watch them play and win the Euro Cup '92.

Anyway, things changed it seems, but we cant judge the whole picture after one match for each team. Italy seems to be back in business, after the humiliattion 2 years ago. I expected Spain to be better, maybe they were way too cautious. Ohh, whoever knows Torres in person, just slap the guy, he deserves it. Germany - Portugal: expected german win, but the german players seemed a little bit rusty. Strange Nani killed no one and Ronaldo wasnt crying as he usually does.

As for tonight, im really curious if France and England are back in business too. France was in a pathetic shape 2 years ago, England felt like they lack the driving force.

should be an interesting couple of matches.

Netherlands need to win, and Portugal need to win.

Hopefully it will produce a couple of good games..............well for the neutral

Bleh!!!!!!!!!!! That was another frustrating match. We've got almost no chance of making it through the pool now. Germany needs to beat Denmark, they could well do that, but we need to win from Portugal with 2 goals difference too. With the way 'our' team is playing, I strongly doubt that will happen. What a difference two years can make!

It depends on germany now and the next match they have to take the points.
I'm sure netherlands could do much better but it just doesnt come out in the games...
And i have to say that the germans played well.
