Hey,
I want to know which hardware you use for QL.

I think a good mouse makes such a big difference...I got one for 20€( ~28$/17£) [saitek cyborg mouse v2]
- not the best mouse, but I'm 16 and a better one is too expensive... EDIT: got a razer abyssus some weeks ago, awesome mouse :)

Sound: one of the most important things in QL.
I played with simple earphones(handy, walkman, whatever) for a very long time and when I play with them now, it's just terrible.
now I have a 50€ Sennheiser Headset (Sennheiser PC 151).
I love it.

Some weeks ago i bought a new mousepad. just a black mat[update: got a steelseries QcK+, HUGE mousepad]. but better than normal mousepads like this one:

My mouse doesn't work on colorfull mousepads very properly...
I used a simple cardboard a long time. An option, but not a very good one(sweat->wet->wavy->shiiiit!)

And now my computer(laptop): 450mb RAM, 1.7 GHz, 128mb Graphicscard...
My computer is very old, but QL works and i don't need a new one as long as QL works : D

so, which hardware do you use?
And can you recommend a good mouse (~ 40€/50$)?
I want a new one. With better configuration options(mouse speed).
I can only change between 2 mouse speeds...

I've been thinking of dual booting windows 7 on my mac. Did you have any problems with it???

For QL i'm using the other half's laptop because I tried QL on the mac and it was unplayable.

Some Logitech wired mouse (Changing the mouse was the weirdest experience ever on QL everything felt wrong and took a few days playing to get back to some normality)

If you only need Windows for QL.. Use XP.. less cpu usage. I need win7 because I run a dongle for cable TV so I can record shows using Windows Media Center. No OSX software..

Well I have a spare win7 dvd with unused COA because I bought a desktop computer last year. But it wouldn't switch on so they came out and collected it and I got my money back and bought this laptop. But accidentally forgot to mention to the guy who picked it up it came with a windows 7 dvd.

I will give that a bash anyways if it works great, if not then heh ho I will just use XP

Keep this in mind when installing win7.. if your mac has over 4 gigs of ram and can run 64bit then install 64bit. win7 will only use 3.5 gigs of ram when installed as 32bit. I'm running it in 32bit..I turned down the graphics a lot, but it runs just fine. Also i found a lot of opensource software/freeware that works just fine. Some I use on the mac side.

The second thing I would point out is use bootcamp to make your partition only. Don't install the bootcamp drivers.. They are not always up to date. After install go out and update your audio/video drivers. Most things work out of the box after a Win7 install. I was pleased with that..

And you can d/l win versions of itunes and safari from apple.

sounds good..I've never had much of a problem installing win except maybe the sound drivers, but they were easy to find. Also I have the day off as boss is sick and as an experiment I'm downloading Ubuntu and will attempt to make a bootable flash drive (16 gig PNY). Just for fun..I'd like to see how the game runs in Linux..

the nice thing with bootcamp is if the win install goes bad..you can delete the partition and start again..

One thing you might want to do is find your mac install disk and run disc repair from it before making your bootcamp partition. It clears up a lot of bootcamp install problems, especially if you have been running the mac for awhile.

Go with 64 bit.. It will use all your ram.

I run Asus P8P67Pro with 4GB DDR3 Kingston Hyperx overclocked to 1800Mhz. Processor is Corei5-2500K 3.3 Ghz overclocked permanently to 4.5Ghz flying with Scythe Mugen Rev b. The hard disk is WD Caviar Black@7500, SATAIII with 64MB cache. GFX is handled by PNY GeForce GTX460 XLR 8 Enthusiast Edition (slightly OC'ed vs stock), I also have a Sapphire Theatrix TV card installed(this way I sold my TV as it was pretty useless), SoundBlaster Audigy zs and ofc everything is powered by CoolerMaster's Ultimate model with 800W max output. The system is Win7 32bit Professional.
All in all a very basic rig, but handles everything just fine. Guess being an IT professional pays off sometimes

I use old Dell 23" LCD with TN(twisted nematic) matrix and Logitech g9x mouse along with wireless Logitech K340 keyboard. Audio is handled by 2.1 Logitech x-230, a very very decent audio speakers for their price. If I need audio directly into my ear I use Sennheiser's HD465 headphones. Not the best the Senn has but they do the work.
