For the last couple of days, I have been messing around with "ExtraQL" . I am liking it a lot. It is not fancy looking, but it works really good, and it is a lot easier to SEE!!!. You can setup Country, Ping, Game type, you can even set up a Friends List so when you get on it, it will show Where they are Playing. Its in the QL Steam Workshop, if any one wants to try it, or if anyone cares or knows about it, Whatever........
Edited in my last Post...

I was using a version of QLextra with the standalone. It had a hook.js file in my config and some configs for qlranks and qlping. It was my understand that QLextra took the info from the actual websites while my version took it directly off the computer of the guy who wrote it so he recommended using QLextra in case his computer was offline. I never did that though. Does the actual QLextra require any hook/javascript files in your config? I read somewhere on one of those Quake forums that if you use that kind of stuff in your config that Steam's VAC might flag it and ban your account. They said it could take several weeks to actually get a ban. So I'm afraid of using it now. There is this thing here though: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=543312745I just dont know anything about the Steam workshop or how to make any of those things work. I could probably figure out how to make it run but if I don't like it I'm not sure how to revert back to the GUI we have now. If anyone could explain that stuff to me that would be super neato great. I definitely agree, that match browser we have now is REALLY hard to see. Almost as hard to see as these forums after the Halloween update lol I've found limiting it to showing results for under 100 ping helped reduce server clutter a lot and I'm actually getting used to it. Searching for the Pill tag finds just about the only server I play on anyway lol. I'm really liking the new Pill settings. It's practically ufreeze settings with a break between rounds. You keep your heath/armor/weapons between rounds and winning team does not thaw between rounds. Plus quad and battlesuit are now carried over between rounds too. I definitely approve! Plus server size is huge. I played 12v12 freeze tag last night, tons of fun! I know she wont read this but huge props to Lint!!!

No its not a Script that messes with anything. It runs by itself separate from QL. You can use either or without uninstalling anything. Just Subcribe to it, and you will find it in your Common Files in Steam Apps. Its easy. Ones you find it, just down load it. He has a post in ESR Explaining it better. That is how I got turned onto it...... If I can figure it out,, Well...

I'm hoping for the return of the match browser instead of the mess I see now.. And yes..I know I can use tags for that..

Yep, if you go to the Community Hub for a game in Steam and then head over to the Workshop, you will see addons and mods available to download for free. Just hit the "Subscribe" button and they will download. If they have any other instructions, it will say so in the description for that workshop item. To get rid of it, just go to the Workshop and click on Your Files -> Subscribed items, and you can unsubscribe from them. They will be on your pc, but won't load with the game anymore. I guess it sounds like a long process, but its really simple.. Just takes a few minutes to read what is on your screen and click the relevant buttons.
Hell, I might make some addons/mods sometime if I get around to it..

I've d/l the add ons including the christmas pack..As far as the server set up..It seems to be a project of yakumo, and he is already asking for help.. This should have been fleshed out and ready to go before the update.. but..what the hell you expect from QL?

Could someone using this ExtraQL match browser please post a screen shot? I'm curious what it looks like, trying to decide which match browser I want to use and I'm too lazy to try them all myself. Thanks.

Its kinda funny how when I downladed this browser, there was no ExtraQL in the Workshop.. It was just the Browser Part. So just use that one. Seems ExtraQL, has other stuff that you might be thinking of that you don't like.

This was written by the same guy and I like it better because I can see servers and who is playing without having to open Steam/QL. .
