Anyone else find it hard to sleep after playing Quake? I don't know if Quake brings out some primal fight or flight instinct that fills me with adrenaline or what but sometimes it can take me a good hour or more to wind down after a night playing like tonight. Ever play so much Quake you jump around and frag people in your dreams?

Not for me, i'm normally ready to sleep after playing a few games.
But that might be to do with my working conditions atm though with a silly start time. *fml*

I've always needed an extra hour or so after I lie down to actually fall asleep, but after being mentally or physically active, I try to read something or watch something on my phone for a bit. My body begins to calm down and tell me "yo buddy, let's get some shut eye already" and it becomes a lot easier.

My dreams are about lascivious and lewd barmaids and an open tab in the bar...

It depends for me. If I've been going hardcore (with something like higher level Clan Arena or Duel, or a scrim), then I'll be exhausted enough to just fall asleep right away. Last night, by the end I was swaying in my seat from how tired I got! Normally, I do need a little bit- maybe half an hour or so of non-action, non-Quake games or human interaction to get myself calmed down enough to sleep.

Normally I tend to want to play more but don't think I have a problem to sleep right after. I think it even helps since my brain is exhausted. Yesterday I got a migraine (which is really not new for my case) but I can't tell if it's because of playing a long time or my medical condition (which is unknown). I take time to let you know that I might be less present starting next week since I will start to work again (3 months without a job... which is why I played Quake so often). So I will need some sleep and I have to wake-up early which is not my thing. Will try to play every week nights, but not for hours as I usually did the last 3 months.

I have no problem winding down. I just grab a couple of Candy Bars, and watch some 60's and 70's Sitcoms..

Good luck, Blackpearl! Just play when you can- there are more important things than Quake, after all! I guess that goes to everyone out there as well

It's just a two weeks contract tho. They don't have anything better to offer me. So I might come back soon after!!
