In more ways than one now.
I mostly play CTF I find it has a purpose and more fun. I am tier 4 but I do not know why, I must be on the cusp because I get pummelled often.
I used to play Quake 4, that was my first Quake game ever, I quite liked it to be honest, the crouch slide was great for getting around corners and the rox and grenades and plasma going through teleports was a nice touch too.  I tried Quake 3 soon after when I bought the id super pack off steam, but it was a pain in the arse, having to download maps at 15KB/second and no http fast download support, no thanks.
Started Quake Live in December 2008 some kind person on ESR sent me a beta invite and been playing since.  I initially bought the premium when it came out of beta, those times were great 5 tiers for all modes gave the game much better balancing an often were close games instead of like now that are 8-0 stompings. Turning more into a rant than an introduction.
