And if your modem is in another room..Find a carpenter to run a cat5/6 wire to it..It's pretty easy.. Hell..Buy me a plane ticket..Feed me nicely..And I'll do it..Warning..You must put me in a decent hotel with a good Pub and pick up the tab..

Model number? Also how close are you to the router when playing? Have you messed about with the b/g/n settings? It could something as simple as just changing one of those settings to what your laptop card is capable of. (But assuming it is set to AUTO) Also have you tried changing from the following wep wpa wpa2 for the router security? Friend had wifi issues with router while using wpa2 from where his wifi would just drop for like 10 mins or so and switched to wpa-psk and it seemed to fix the issue. Soooooo many variables though it's difficult to give advice on something I have a lack of experience with. My suggestion is to shout malk on #clanchill he seems to always give me the right answers computer wise Or if you want me to ask him then gimme the model number and I will ask him to give some suggestions.

It's the wireless n gigabit router,TL-WR1043ND But for my gaming pc i always use the cable, never wireless. Only have it to use wireless with phone and stuf,it reaches a few hundred metres in my back garden. And to connect more pc with cable. And if i put the cable straicht into modem there are no probs.

Well all I got was "don't play games using wifi" lolol
But got some pointers to check.
Set router to specific channel
Check your wireless power settings (right click computer, click properties. click device manager, find wifi card under network adapters and double click it turn off any power management thingies.
If your using wpa mode, try using wep as a test and see if you get dropouts, if not then try and update firmware on the router and see if that fixes the issue.
Other stuff too, but have been suggested above
