My .cfg is rather ill.. (Read 651 times)

Can someone look at my .cfg and give some advice?  It's 4 years old...

swampy send a message on the QL forums to Lorfa.  Seems to have the answer for everything quake related and is always helping people out with answers and tips.  I have also seen him give advice on numerous occassions about .cfg

lol..of course i did that before posting this..cause i'm all drunk like and this is a joke.. 

But.. he jumped on it and cleaned it up...  (which i thought was rather damn nice and great!)

sheet..guess i'll give it a go..i still got the pc laptop..she ain't took it back..

If I may hijack this thread swampy made...

How do I organize my config so that it's easier to read and edit? Right now it's just a massive glob of text... Is there a set protocol to organize it with?

I use notepad ++. It works with .cfg's very well.  notepad ++

True... good idea thanks swampy. But my question (I should have been more specific) was along the lines of "does it matter in which order we put the various cvars and commands in the cfg file?"

To be honest..I don't think it does..Because when you start the game..It scans your .cfg and .autoexec and correlates them.

At the beginning of when you started to play..some things in your .cfg were sorta grouped together..So you can move things around after adding commands to your .cfg..If you feel the need to be organized or anal..well then..put your new commands were you want them..so you know where they are if you want to remove them.. 

Otherwise..I don't think it matters..

Also notepad++ has a search feature..So if I use a new cvar that isn't working... search and destroy..
