I keep hearing "you cant teach an old dog new tricks" in the back of my head. Disregard such blasphemous gibberish!!!! Here's some good reading. Pretty sure I've read this article about 74 times. www.trickingq3.com/Tutorials/Strafing_Tutorial.htmlSuggest many youtube, much coffee, and practice practice practice for optimum strafe jump acceleration awesomeness. But seriously. They key is in the start and mouse movement from there on out. Try to start with a Circle jump to get your speed up, or a rocket jump that will get you moving forward more than up. Switching strafe keys and hitting jump is easy. You need to find the angle with the mouse. Don't get over aggressive with direction changes using the mouse. Always smoothly with the mouse. Too little mouse angle = no accell. Too much = minimum accell or complete stop. Always keep the mouse moving in the direction of the strafe and increase the angle as you increase speed.

also spawn a server and use /timescale .3 or something and you can really see how the movements affect your speed. if you post demos here we can try to analyze too. hell if someone can help me do bridge to rail consistently I would be so grateful, i can send a demo over. I always have to do it from the very edge or it fails, and land on the corner piece but ive seen ppl do it straight to the ledge with room to spare easily.

HERE is your B2R.... I personally hate campgrounds. So many better maps.

For the B2R jump, I'm still working on consistency- I can do it maybe half the time.
And honestly, I like Campgrounds simply because of all the Lightning Gun training opportunities- it's a wonderful map for intense mid-range fights.

Amazing, AMAZING duel between Pavel and Ash. A lot to learn from this match- and not just for duel! The basic positioning and timing used here certainly apply to all of the gamemodes, and I recommend that everybody check this out if they haven't done so already!

Because you move too fast to rail..
