Lots of BS on the opposing team. Check out Flankins stats. Brand new account. Then watch when his LG is snapping back and forth when they were by the entry way next to the lava (2:14). Much Fail.... And, I'll always say this. Stick together = win. (most of the time)

Haha nobody included the match after that! I played much better once BOinked disconnected.. He kept running towards a few enemies even after I tried to tell him they were huddled up and ganging with LG ready, then complained that we sucked. He wasn't a bad player, just worked terribly with the team. As far as the other team, they had traveled in a group, making a single target near impossible. Combined with our team a little disoriented, we never had a solid ground to stand on. I did volley bornkiller around a few times here and there, though

That was my problem..I wouldn't pack up..then I'd go into a room with 3 of them and get LG raped..

I watched some of that video, and if I may offer my constructive criticism... Based on their tactics, backing off and making them come for you would be an ideal strategy. Picking them off with long-range rails and plasma or rocket spam would be certainly useful. To counter their LG use, bouncing them around with grenades and rockets (or plasma) on the tower will throw off their aim a great deal. Then it becomes a matter of forcing them to use the bounce pads or rocket jump to get to your position (which leaves them very vulnerable to LG, rail, and shotgun). For a five-on-five, having three on the middle platform (two watching courtyard, one watching the pit area) and two on the tower (one watching the courtyard bounce pad, the other ready to back up at any position) would be a good formation, based on my experience with high tier 3 and low-mid tier 4. Fast movement is also key- there were a couple of instants where running for the tele, or getting some distance and railing would have been useful. Remember to boost movement speed with rockets, and keep up on strafe jumping techniques- just because it is not CTF does not mean that strafe jumping goes out the window! If I was not too audacious with this...

That sounds great! For a organized Team. All that goes out the window on Public Rooms. From what I have seen in Public instances, it just a Unorganized CA that may as well be a FFA. Or has the Public Sector always been like this?

My experience with pubs have gone either way, unfortunately. High tier-3 players tend to have a feel for each other, and cooperate decently (but many don't really use teamplay). Low tier-4 players just troll 90% of the time, so it feels more like a FFA. Mid tier-4 players tend towards tacit use of teamplay, resulting in players adopting roles automatically.
I just wish QL had an integrated team voice chat function, just to make it easier for even one person to command the team... (but that's why WE have TS3).

I strafe jump constantly- I hardly walk on the ground! I think we could use a bit more time together practicing some team-oriented ideas and mechanics to get us geared up mentally for more defensive occurances as well as offensive opportunities. But I know time is an enemy

Got that. Maybe we should try to do what "Drunk" has setup. Have a set day that would be best, for all or most of us.

I'm always down to schedule a meeting server. Tuesdays and Thursdays are better for me after work. I'll be home 8:30 PM PST on those days. I also normally play on Saturday (sporadically), and Sunday nights. This week I'm gonna be tied up, so you prolly won't see me online all that much. Will try to login/checkin as much as possible. Great writeup deathstarg!! Totally get what you mean about grouping and holding key spots. It's like playing "Zone" in BB. I say yes to taking advantage of the teamspeak server also. So far we haven't really been able to put anything solid together in order to effectively use it. Let's try and get a solid (all inclusive) practice session scheduled for next week??? Thoughts? LETS GET IT ON!!!!

I can definitely get on the practice sessions after my exams are over (around May 22nd), and until then, if demos/videos are provided, I can try to help by analyzing the play going on (individual players, team play, specific situations and their counters, etc)... I tend to analyse this game beyond the gameplay skill level I am at (which is good and bad, because while I can figure out what to do next, I don't always have the skill to pull off the needed moves).

I was able to negotiate some free time and played for a couple hours last night on the Irvine server. It's weird playing with ping that low. Takes a while to get used to. I think my comfort zone and best play is 60-80 ping. Played on laptop so wasn't able to record any demo. Was win-loss-win-loss anyways. Was fun though and played well.

It was not that bad last night. You think you had your head some where else, I don't know what I was thinking going into a game with Sens and Accel settings I was playing with earlier. And we were in a T4 room. Good thing only one of them was T4. Some of those guys were crazy! Flying all over the place...Fun though....
