Well not really exciting as I expect lots and lots of issues with people running linux and mac.

But with you using linux it could be a good gauge on whether it works well in wine and stuff.

I'm now running Win7 on an old Dell.. Sorta wish I was running Linux so I could try it in wine..

    ok..seems you can access friends list from with in game and there is a built in demo player.

The launcher pops up quickly.. but when you press Play..it take about 45 seconds to open up to the lobby as it is [checking game content] first. Thats worse then waiting on an ad as a free player.. I'm wondering if it is also scanning to see if someone has a bot running.. That would be good. 

Ping..You can now see a servers ping before joining..

yea that would be good for a "bot scan" but then no stopping them from just starting it once in the game.

But they probably already have some kind of hack prevention somewhere because not really seen much suspicious activity in like 2 years.

Plus theories all on the QL site about some secret software they use

Nah cheaters enouch,think 1 time a month with ca if it isnt more...and i can already see my ping before I join a game

FPS now raised to 250..Depending of course on your monitor, computer, and bandwidth..

Any point in 250 fps though?

I think that is probably slightly overkill when loads of people struggle to even have 125 fps.

But no doubt there will be someone with a wooly hat stating that they can't play the game unless it is running @ 250 fps.

Plus does that also mean the 125fps cup has to change its name to the 250fps cup

In a way i'm looking forward to it, but then another part of me thinks that this should have been the way to go when quake live was launched but with linux and mac support when they had the devs available to do it.

I don't know, I just feel a little bit underwhelmed really.  But that might be because I am typing this @ 5:40am

Cool running 125easy only my new 2ms led screen already cant keep up the speed of 125fps sow im curious how its gonna work...

I think 250 fps are mainly for 144Hz monitors with lightboost. In TF2 you usually set you fps cap to twice the amount of Hz your monitor has +1. So if you have 120Hz, you set it to 241 etc.

Maybe the performance will be improved especially on maps like asylum.

Taking ideas from QLPrism is probably a really good idea as it has been proven to be reliable and has become fairly popular.

Looking forward to trying it out myself :)
