When the "drunk" tag is abused? (Read 794 times)

I knew this would happen after getting so many members.

Basically someone with the tag is TK'ing team members in CTF space Maps.Shooting them off the platforms.

I've never had to kick anyone because we've been lucky with none of those problems..

The person that contacted me is an old friend I play with. She plays with drunks all the time and likes us and our attitude for fun.. I trust her judgement..

Should I talk to the member or just kick him? I've never kicked anyone.. But I think I'll put on my old Doc Martins.. TK'ing aint right..even if yer in a bad mood..

Erk. I know the feeling swampy. Chill was found to accept everyone, no matter how near the Mississippi they might live. We introduced a clan code of conduct cos of a similar issue (which mostly resulted in my unruly clanmates taking the p1ss, but at least they know the ultimate limits )

My advice would be to ask for a demo of the game and see it for yourself. If she hasn't got one, it shouldn't be to had too hard to get one in the future. Then apply your size 9s to his TKing ass.

He was online and he ignored me. I checked out the games. I kicked.. I feel bad about it.. but TK'ing is a crime to me..

I just don't feel good about doing it.. but fair play is fair play..

Well if a member is being a muppet and TK'ing on purpose then I really don't have any sympathy.

If he wasn't willing to respond when you tried to speak to him then sod it basically.

Maybe with so many members a Code of Conduct could be a good idea.

Nothing too in your face or serious, but just some general guidelines.

Drunk Clan has a pretty good rep for fun. I'll stand by that and protect us when I have to. I'm actually surprised it took this long. Erm I feel much better..

It probably was always going to happen at some point just because of the sheer amount of people using the drunk tag.

Guys, maybe its time to verify whos worth the drunk badge and whos not?

Swampy, at one point or another you'll have to make selection and not allow everyone to get that tag. If I participate in CTF and get abusive words from guys like PateKK it's no fun. We're in DRUNK clan and clan members (yet members of a loose clan like this) should respect each other and behave towards each other. This is often not the case. I know that when we play and are on opposite teams or in FFA somebody might go ballistic. But the TAG is THE TAG, for crissakes. I tell you this: More often than not I get such info when I play FFA: "it's that idiot from drunk clan". When pressed, ppl tell me that they've often encountered drunks shooting their teammates, behaving like idiots, using abusive words towards other players. That tells something, doesn't it.
I for one think that at one point or another you either make this clan more "clanlike" by enforcing discipline or you'll end up with a plethora of retards abusing the tag and giving us shame.

The drunk tag stands for have fun and respect other players.

If the tag is abused then the swamps will dust off the the size 10's and deal with it.

If you see, hear about any drunk player abusing the tag then check to see if swampy, lethana or myself is online on the QL active chat and inform us there.

If none are online PM swampy @ the forums and he will deal with it.

Obviously with the amount of members we have there will be 1 or 2 bad apples but we will deal with it if we are told.

Screening everyone before adding them to the drunk clan isn't part of the process of joining. We can't screen everyone to see if they play for fun or are complete idiots. And I can't see that happening because everyone is welcome to join.

But rest assured that if a member is found to be abusing the tag then it will be dealt with.

Send names.. demo if you can, although I will take the word of a Drunk board member with no reservations.... I'm not worried about losing a few members who only use the tag and don't even bother to come here to show support for drunk clan.

If they are spamming bullshit in chat.. take a screenshot and u'l it to me as an attachment..

The kick will be swift with no tracking down for a chitchat.. Your word is good enough..

If it's another player complaining.. Ask them who the drunk member is.. Tell them we WILL deal with it..
