I'm  turning the clan over to thewookster. He was here when the clan started..

Drunk Clan was never meant to be my toy.. It was started by float_dublin who passed it on to me..

So..I pass it on to someone.. who has built up this clan, built up you guys going out and competitively playing..

Someone Who has cared about this clan from our beginning  3 years ago..

I can't think of anything better!!!

Drunk clan has surpassed all my expectations over the past few years by the way it has evolved and grown. 

I remember requesting an invite over at the QL forums and then being welcomed with open arms.  Having some forums that we didn't care about because we just didn't know what was going to happen, loads of members but couldn't arrange a piss up in a brewery.

But now we have some forums that look great because they have had a lot of love and effort poured into them to make them as good as possible.

Now due to the efforts of the members and clan officers we are now entering tournaments and have the qrunk clan and the insta wing with <q-i>.

The thought of drunk clan playing competitively never really entered my mind when I very first joined, so us playing tournaments is quite an achievement considering we didn't set out to do this.  We just normally had our Saturday afternoon matches against chills which were great.  I do hope to try and get together with chills and just host a server and just play.  Because if you don't enjoy just playing then what's the point!

Along with the happy times we have also had some bad times with having to remove some members.

But I am amazed at how few people this has happened to.  The above was such a rarity with the amount of members we have and that just goes to show that we have a nice set of members that just want the tag and to play quake.

Sometimes we have had a few overzealous players who had a few naughty binds, but we just spoke to them and asked them to be a bit nicer with the binds and they change them without any form of animosity.

This is running much longer than I originally anticipated.

But to end I just want to say that nothing about the drunk clan will change.  The reason for this is because both myself and swampy believe in the same values and they have worked for us so far and will continue to do so in the future.

Drunk clan motto "Have Fun, Everyone is Welcome" and that will stay forever.

Also a big thank you to swampy for all his efforts over the past few years.

It may say my name as clan leader on the QL site, but in my eyes swampy will always be the top dog and I will always ask his advice on matters drunk related.

In the mean time keep fragging and have fun

I joined back in January 2011, probably best decision I made in my QL "career", you guys are amazing.
Playing with you is always fun and I love the friendly atmosphere. No insulting other members, no bullshit. At least the "veterans" are people I have never had any problems with. I consider us a family. Even though some people had to go because of some "issues", we're still a good bunch! Of course we had our ups and downs, considering that some of us already left us, including persons I absolutely loved to play with, one in particular.

We have developed incredibly. Our skill level in QL is a ton higher now, although we are of course still horrible compared to other people.
But just look at what we accomplished. Several duel tournaments, they took forever but who cares, we had tons of fun. Our own forum with just a small amount of people actually posting here regularly but that's exactly what keeps us "alive". Now you guys are participating in tournaments, competing with top players. I kinda retired from QL as you all know because I found my love for TF2 but if I would still play it, I would definitely play in these tournaments as well.

But one thing which is especially important to me personally - my English greatly improved. Special thanks at this point to wooks who always explained anything I wanted to know about this language. My English still sucks at some points but generally I greatly improved. If you just have a look at my first posts here on the boards...I'm astonished how bad I used to be. Today, I'm actually able to write with a decent style and decent grammar. Decent enough to be one of the best in my English "intensive" course.
And I'm sure I don't have my English abilities from English lessons in school, I mainly have them from here, from games with you guys or chatting with you. <3

Furthermore I want to guarantee you guys that I will always keep contact with you, read the forums, occasionally post something even though I don't really play QL anymore. If I don't respond to anything in less than 10 days, you can assume that I'm dead.

Drunk is by far the best clan I have been in, everyone I have met here has been friendly and welcoming and its a genuine pleasure to play quake with all of you.
