Fatal Error (Read 412 times)

I have a new lap top, running windows 8. I logged into QL to do the installations and updates. I restarted and now every time I try to log into QL I get a Fatal Error. An instance of Quake Live is already running. Please close this web page.

Nothing is running in task manager. Dumped cookies. QL Plugin is installed.

Any ideas on what I'm missing?

You might wanna try another browser or have a look at the compatibility with windows 8. Don't know if it is supported. In the end you can still send a mail to the support ;)
Or if you're not a pro member, ask a pro or premium member to ask the support as they are more likely to reply pro/premium members :/

Here's a thread on that over at QL Forums. It seems to be affecting a lot of people. Are you using IE 10?  Have you tried FF or QLPrism?

I'm at the moment in Win7 on a borrowed comp, so I can't be much help.. Sorry..  Maybe someone here has the cure..

join this irc channel #clanchill and see if @kryty knows anything because he is playing QL on windows 8 so might be more knowledgeable on the subject.

But check out the thread swampy suggested first, then ask kryty, then contact support.

I haven't had any problems like that. Using chrome (not in windows 8 embedded mode) and qlprism sometimes. QL sometimes does crash when alt enter but that's with qlprism and during stream.

I'd say that chrome is a safe bet..  Haven't checked that thread and way too tired to do it now, sry (1:11am..) but..  hope you get it fixed..

I talked to euforia in game.. She's got it sorted out. She didn't have time to tell me how, as she was on the other team..And I believe I was rocket spamming her..

i heard about it from someone else i think? iirc its a ie10 thing and not rly a win8 thing

From the topic and the start of the post I understood that installing Win8 was the fatal error.
