Mumble or Teamspeak (Read 758 times)

With our mumble subscription a couple of months away from expiring I thought I would see what the preferred method of team chat is.

So the choice is with you lot as I have no preference.

If you would prefer mumble or teamspeak then please vote it, then I will close this thread 1 week before the subscription ends and get either one sorted out.

So the choice is yours.

Also there is still Ventrilo I believe, but I prefer TS3 anyway.

Also since I own a server, people are free to pm me for info so they can have a look at it.

What's the difference?
I mean is the one better then the other?
Can more people join or is the sound better?
Don't think it really matters..I probably could get in the ictf teamspeak channel...
But it has to be reliable as we will use it regular.

Basically the subscription for mumble ends soon terrorj so before I just renew the mumble subscription I would see if people prefer TeamSpeak instead.

But as the voting is going I think it's going to be TeamSpeak.

I personally think has better sound quality and is a bit better overall.

Errrrrm tell you what, I will let this run until the end of next week, then take the results.

Not taking this offer is basically wasted money. Just buy some more beer from it

But for how many slots do we go?
And are there price differences?On other sides I mean.
Also difference in servers?Uk or dutch etc..

I think the best thing is to get a channel on the instagib.ql or on WGA maybe? Because this way its easy to get in touch with people of other clans etc, arrange pcw's quickly. Since our clan isnt the most IRC active clan anyway. I think we need to be where the rest of the community is at.

Why instagib.ql , because our most active front is still insta gametypes in my pov.

Since for some god knows what reason I cannot get mumble on my win 8 I vote . Works fine.

Sorry I should have explained a bit more.

I have a voucher from the server company for 6 months free + the standard 50% off costs.

That's why I was mainly asking, because it will only cost me £10 for the year which is half covered by a mate who will use 2 slots for minecraft on very very rare occasions, like once a month for him and his mate.

So am sorry for the confusion.

With regards to the WGA , I am not 100% sure how that is going to work, I do have admin rights to it but am unsure how it works with regards to free usage.

Also to answer Prophy yea I can try and sort that out, but it is always good to have our own server if for our own individuality and independence really.

£5 is basically nothing really, so ergo we are going to be getting our own channel.

simply coz i am familiar with it...
as far as reliability goes, it's always as reliable as the server it is hosted on really... if the server is up [commercial or private] is up.. also received a major update recently and sound quality increased a lot thanks to what i believe is called the 'Opus' codec..

yeah think our best shot is to go for then.
Maybe we better try it in a practice and we see the difference because we all know how mumble works.
