hey.. its pretty wierd so, hard to explain.. ever since i got my new internet and i re-joined quake.. its been rate lagging.. what i mean is as if the rate has been changed to something totaly unplayable, even though its the same as it always was, but its anything but smooth.. if i would be in the middle of a cluster**** in CA, it would be skipping frames makin it impossible to precise shot, making my rockets do fireworks.. internet speed 32 mbits and upload is 2 mbits.. laptop is the same and so is my config.. never had this problem.. maybe someone did and can tell what it is?

Try doing a trace route to the Quake Server. Your new internet might be sending you all over the place.

Check "post processing" is off. After the last update I had some issues with laggyness and post processing mysteriously turned itself on.
Also disabling skybox might help.
Can't remember the command for setting max FPS but mess about with that aswell.
Also check what swampy says. Because you have a new internet connection? So might take a few days to settle down and become more stable while they do there tests for "best stable" broadband speed.
I had issues with that when I joined sky, took about a week before my internet became stable.

To get the IP
Connect to a server.. Type cl_currentserveraddress in console.
Then use that to run a trace route,, check ping, etc.
Most ISP's don't give a :censor: about gaming.. So a lot of the traffic gets bounced all over the place.
Extreme gamers will subscribe to a VPN service that has a server by the game server. It can lower your ping in most cases.
