I feel the need to complain right now...
As you know, I took a break from QL for a couple weeks. When I came back, I noticed the new map vote system and thought: 'nice, finally we can play some maps that arent overplayed. hell yeah, even premium maps!'
But now I'm really disappointed. the last 3 days I played 2 decent maps. dm6 and quarantine. 7 matches and only 2 of them were enjoyable... today I tried again and joined a server. 2 people on it, map was revolver. we voted for teamsize 2, not too bad for revolver. then a guy joined while we were voting. that made it 3v2 and the vote was invalid. so we played 3v3. the match was not enjoyable at all and to top it off, the h65nUnz map vote system let us choose between grim dungeons, cold war and chemical reaction. I rage quit.
I hate this system. I wanna play some good old almost lost, trinity or hidden fortress. I'm really pissed about this. I wanna play an enjoyable map and have a decent match. instead I have to play the worst premium maps ever and cannot play the good standard maps. h65nUnz this.
really really really really disappointed mars :(

A lot of people have been complaining about it recently.
It affects a lot of people including the Pro/Prem members because it's all well and good setting up a server but then trying to populate it is another problem because it then becomes a prem only server.
I wouldn't hold your breath on them changing it though.
Tomorrow I will host a CA server, invite some people and see if it becomes popular once some of the prem members invite a few others.
I will catch you on steam to let you know when it's done.

At least CA has 15 maps.. CTF only has 6 now.. 6! So I set up a Pro server.. Even with invites.. forget getting enough players..

I know it's proper rubbish at the moment.
Definitely less standard players around at the moment. Tried setting up a FT server earlier on and even with 3 Pro players we still couldn't fill it up, so I buggered off and drunk some beer and watched a film on sky.
Why can't they just put it back to how it was?
Sync is saying on the QL forums about monthly subscriptions to pro and stuff, but it seems like there think tank is completely inept because this should have been implemented as soon as pro/prem was introduced.
And whoever thought the map pool rotation was a good idea either needs sacking, or a good swift kick up the backside because it's an absolutely shocking bad concept.
I know they want to get people to play the other maps, but there's a reason people don't play them, and that's because they are rubbish.
I'm venting, but I just find the whole thing really really frustrating.

The sad thing is: even if there are 100000000 threads on the forum complaining about the map pool, it wont be changed.
The last map pool was proper rubbish, everyone complained. They changed it. it is even worse. gg

Agreed, I logged on the other day to find myself repeating grim dungeons every 2 games so i jumped into a CTF game, same maps over and over jesus christ, rage quit to tf2 :3

The only saving grace I think is the one month subscriptions. If that fails then it's going to become even more empty.

One sentence: iCTF on Overlord. TerrorJ felt the same, I think. A 3 minute march and an almost instant kill. For 45 minutes, because, hey, Overlord iCTF. Felt like Normandy indeed. And it feels like there's 4 maps for this mode right now? Vortex Portal, Courtyard, Rebound and.... this one. Almost an hour... of nothingness...

Jup,that one was totally not playable with 6vs 6.I never do that again!It was the first time in ages I felt like I wanted to quit halfway the game.Whe had played like 45 min,score was still 0-0 and had a respawn delay of something like 10 sec or so...unbelievable..

New map rotation sucks. Everytime i play its Courtyard, rebound, courtyard, rebound, vortex, courtyard, rebound, courtyard, vortex, rebound and so on... for the love of God, stop it! They are forcing me to buy pro acc. xD
And btw, few days ago I played skyward with 12 secs delay i think. lol.

I like the idea of "forcing" people to play unusual maps, but I must admit the system is not good how it is right now (at least how it was 4 weeks ago last time I played team gametype on pub)(but it does not looks like it changed). I think "classic" maps should always be included in the standard pool. Last month ZTN was premium, how can you tell people "this month you don't play ZTN"? I'm not speaking of classics that were implemented as premium maps like Aerowalk, but dm6, Almost lost, etc I also which we could disable it when spawning our private server. When dueling I enjoy playing the same map several times in a row, it's a pain in the ass to endure two map loads every game. Same when you want to change to a specific map, why loading a random map before you can callvote for your pick?
(but to be honest, sometimes wrong map choice is the players fault, because of lack of map knowledge of lots of them)
