Logged on last night for a quick looksie and I really like the new "start match" page.

The idea of "domination" gametype sounds like it may be popular.

first impressions:

domination is alot of fun, finally CA with an objective
harvester is kinda boring for me, dunno why...
attack/defend: played this on dueling keeps, way too small, ended in camp...
redrover is confusing
argh havent tried 1CTF yet...

I actually quite like "harvester" I thought it was interesting.

Didn't like attack and defend just a massive camperama and it just frustrated me with everyone blocking you.

BUT it does have potential once players get good at it.

I specced a domination match and it looked good. Didn't jump in as I had a power cut.

Will have a go at that tomorrow

Hope this doesnt end like FT, but I think since pros can invite 5 ppl now it is much easier to set up a decent match, one pro for a 3v3

most of the new game-types feels kinda rubbish imho, but harvester was kinda cool, played a couple instaharvester games too which was fun. DOM was fun too but a bit too spammy, especially on dm6 when its 8v8 ;D
might be more fun with team damage on?

Harvester was more fun than i rememberd. Had 2 entertaining games with martin and scorpi.

Domination was rubbish, and im kinda mad at the devs becuase of that. Domination is an awsome gamtype and they really ruined the tactical aspect of it with the health regen. Too bad

Attack and defend felt really wierd :S Feels like they where going for a "counter-strike" version of quake, and without economics being a factor those gamtypes tend to fail. Think this one will aswell.

Oneflag ctf sound interesting, couldn't find any games, so havn't tried i yet.

If red rover is like the old ra3 mode then it should be fun.

I kinda like DOM because its basically CA with an objective.

Noticed that there is a bug with the ammo...
example: I have 189 lightning cells-> I pick up an LG->I have 100 LG cells...

Whee.. I'm having a great time setting up CTF servers ,since everyone gets a free week..

I've set rocket splash to max, ..Drop 5 mines in 2 seconds.. and you can rail jump across the map.. lmao

plus max health.. Tops out at 300.. and yer armor refills up

It's a n00bfest on my servers!!

cyberhoran, ye the default settings of dom is kinda bad
its a fun gametype though, good thing is that you can tweak the settings alot now so we might come up with a better version ourselves and with the 2 extra invites for pro subs we could easily fill servers even though many drunks are standard players

Domination - awesome! This is something new, and it's really fun!
1Flag CTF - also nice, there is no camping with both flags picked... Whan you have good team, and you play on small map, it's possible to end in 3-5 minutes...

Harvester - a bit similar to 1Flag CTF, and it's also fun
Red Rover - It's very fast, I like this mod, it's like clan arena without waiting for end of the round
Attack and Defend - it's really wierd. I don't really like it, I prefer standard CTF.

I'm thinking of maybe a Harvester insta session for a laugh.

I think it could go 2 ways.

It could be a right laugh

OR

it could end up being extremely difficult.

Who fancies testing it out?

Also as Swamps said, i'd like to get a group to play dominator aswell. Because every time I have played it, it seems like people just vanish and leave the server leaving the match uneven and annoying.

It's official the public servers have got worse recently with people just leaving willy nilly and messing up matches. Played a game type earlier A/D I think and I must have swapped sides about 6 or 7 times.

Not ranting though, just means i'm going to have to start setting up my own servers I think

Dom seems to be doing very well in America. Lotta CTF players I know on the servers.. I set up a server with mines to make the capture points more fun.
