I just read this article (in French) and I knew I had to share it with my fellow drunk => rough translation
Japanese National Institute for Materials Science have just proved that Beaujolais was the best red wine for superconductor construction. Scientists went to this conclusion thanks to a better comprehension of phenomenons at stake.
For the record, the Japanese experiment consist in doping iron tellurium with sulphur (TeFeS) to make it a superconductor. Problem is the doping procedure is complex and often ineffective. In 2010 scientists discovered you can create this superconductor using spirits and wine as conducting solution for sulphur and that red wine was the best. It was big news, since the experiment was the lucky result of heavy drinking party, according to the scientists whom works were a failure before the discovery.
Today they maintain the best red wine is Paul Beaudet's Beaujolais 2009, a vineyard form center of France. They say this wine has the higher tartric acid concentration, which will react with iron tellurium. The scientists reproduced the experiment by mixing water and tartric acid and observed the doping effect was significantly better than with water alone. But this solution was not as effective as beaujolais, meaning there are more unknown agents optimizing the creation of this superconductor.
Conclusion: even when like beaujolais it's not good to drink, French wines are the best!
