*on another computer and can't remember my password* My favourite is going to be a bit cliche, But Ocarina of time is just awesome. I remember getting it for my N64 and being in complete awe of it. Shigeru Miyamoto knows how to make a game. I have a gamecube which has Ocarina of time bundled with Mario Kart I might get that out of the loft when the missus goes to her parents for the easter weekend (on another note I am hoping to be back to QL wednesday I have my new computer but just no time whatsoever to get it all sorted out. But thats tomorrow evenings mission

(the guy is awesome, check his channel!) The last Zelda game I played was Zelda 3 on SNES. I still remember the ads on video games magazines, "how long will you take to beat Zelda 3?" I also played Zelda 2 on NES, but haven't played the newer ones (SNES was my last Nintendo).

i played zelda for snes aloooot as a kid. think my record was to complete everything with 6 saves. should try it again sometime, would prolly beat that now, but you need a bulldozer to be able to use the controller now days should clean them somehow or get a couple new working ones sometime. snes is teh best console!

@swampy: I've not played joust before so I am definitely going to have a looksie at that link @ Martinheterjag: Me and my mates have lost plenty of our lifetime playing the snes. I had a Super Famicom imported from Japan which I then brutally chopped away at with a pair of needle nose pliers to remove the in built mechanism to stop you playing games from other countries. Then got my dads mate to pick me up some American import games from the US air base from near where we lived. I use to hate the fact the Europe got a bum deal when it came to consoles back in the day because up to the N64 the PAL versions were very slow and had god damn awful black borders. We done a comparison once with Mario Kart 64 on my import yank N64 compared to my mates PAL machine and an average race was at least 4 or 5 seconds quicker on the NTSC version. Mind boggling really. But I don't think there is any difference nowadays with the new consoles so I don't have to be running stupidly noisy and hot step down converters and all that nonsense. One of my step down converters for the dreamcast actually got so hot it burnt a circular pattern on the tv stand. Quite pretty, but quickly realised that all night sessions of shenmue was not a good idea

<3 Lindsey I am going to start speedrunning OOT(Ocarina of time) on speedrunslive.com once I have a new PC. I have praticed a few of the basic tricks and I can do a couple of methods of forest escape (skips the deku tree at beggining) and Door of time skip(means you can become adult after like 15 minutes or less youtube.com/watch?v=y5ReHuW7vdA). zeldaspeedruns.com/oot/ if you want to learn. Wooks is correct, PAL sucks it was 16.67% slower . I have a US n64 though and it can play japanese games by modifying or removing the dust cover. Only game I have for it atm is sm64-J though which is another game I will speedrun. I have praticed sm64 a bit and timed a few 16 star runs, best time is 24 minutes, which is pretty bad(the WR is around 16 minutes).

OOT is indeed awesome but I played it when I was like 11 years old and the goddamn water temple is impossible, should try to play it through some time. I also played wind waker(finished it 3 times), minish cap(way to easy) and a link to the past, furthermore I know the other games by watching friends playing it or watching lets plays. I remember playing phantom hourglass aswell but I definitely didnt play through. Considering buying skyward sword but will wait until it is a bit cheaper some edits: speedrunning OoT sound hard I always watch speedruns of games(if possible) after completing them because it is really interesting how fast you can complete some things (if you played half-life youtube half hour half-life, I was like how the is this possible this is faster than quake[btw watching garpy play half-life deathmatch is insane]) just listened to some zelda soundtracks and woooo I still love the wind waker soundtrack

Yea the water temple is a little bit annoying. But a good little mind challenge.
I always thought I was pretty good at OoT so I might have a go at a speed challenge to see how quickly I can go through it.
I have completed it quite a few times but have not played it in a long long time so might need to have a quick run through to refresh my mind.
The one thing I am not looking forward to is the yawn fest of the bloody deku tree story.
They should have allowed you to skip the stories if you had a complete save game.
I'm starting to wonder what games I have up in the loft and what consoles.
I know I have a gamecube, ps2 chunky (Hong Kong import played japanese and american games) and an N64 (American Import). I'm not certain whether I still have the dreamcast but if memory serves me correctly it became a bit of a pain when reading discs so the might have hit the scrap heap. Not 100% sure though.
I have some older consoles from when I was a kid, but whether they still work or not is anyone's guess ;D
I'll go up there next week when the missus has gone to her parents and have a look.
I'm so hoping the dreamcast is still up there because I was thinking about shenmue earlier on and was like oooooh I really want to play that again.

Got the gamecube down from the loft. So ocarina of time and wind waker will be the games of choice once the missus goes to her parents

Now im gonna tell you something funny. The first bits of english i learned came from The Legend of Zelda: Links Awekening, GameBoy powaaaa. Took me months to complete it, because i knew only a couple words in english (the obvious "yes" and "no" lol, so 80% of my gameplay time was reading a dictionary, trying to decypher the wall of texts). The game can be completed in 8-10 hours lol

Has anyone tried MAJORA'S MASK? It's sad, goddamn hard, obscure.. probably the Zelda chapter you get most involved with. Unique fascination.
