As a boxing fan I am saddened to hear about Joe Frazier losing his battle with liver cancer. Legend is sometimes loosely thrown around with regards to sports stars. But he is thoroughly deserving of that title. His fights with Ali will go down in Boxing folklore. "The Fight of the Century", "Thrilla in Manila" and also maybe "Ali vs Frazier II" I'm way too young to have seen any of his matches live. But I have seen many of his matches on DVD's, VHS and the internet. But as a kid growing up and participating in amateur boxing I have always known about how great he was and how he fought some of the best boxers in possibly the most competitive heavyweight division ever. Will we ever have a heavyweight division that competitive and exciting ever again? Who knows. RIP Joe, long may you be remembered  |
