You can see the elo above the profile because you use prism/installed the script.
There is a program called 'Ingame Elo Announcer' (made by szr) You press a button, wait for the response and press it again, Elos will be announced. You need to bind the key in the program before.

Elo is a value, which depicts your skill (kind of)
Everybody starts with an elo of 1200. Basically, the higher the elo of the opponent is, the more elo you get + (provided you win) the max. elo+ is something around 30, not too sure though The lower the elo of the opponent is, the more elo you get - (provided you lose) If the range between the elos is very large, you dont get any elo change If the elos of two players are even, the winner gets around 15 elo+ The winner gets the same elo+ as the loser gets elo-
some examples: wooks(elo: ~800) wins vs strenx(elo: ~2400) -->wooks gets alot elo+(e.g. +30) ||strenx gets alot elo- (e.g. -30)

Yea, what toma says. If I beat for instance a better player I get on average 25 points, but if I lose (which is normally the case then I lose anything from 1 point up to 25) But I only seem to duel players I know anyways so in my mind the ELO is pointless for my purposes.

But I only seem to duel players I know anyways so in my mind the ELO is pointless for my purposes. Same here. Since I almost always lose I prefer to lose against a friendly foe To really answer jorinde's question, "Elo" just stand for "Elo" (simple, isn't it?), the name of the clever dude who invented the system ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arpad_Elo). Btw, that's why it should be written "Elo" and not "ELO" (or "elo")
