Yes Dink, as DSG said, pick a team captain and have them register a team at ebattlegrounds.challonge.com/FTThen you will want to have every person you want on your roster to register a username at challonge.com. The team captain will have to add each person themselves. Please register using the name you plan on using in game or as close as you can get to it. Registration ends January 18. Team captains should also register a username at eBattlegrounds.com. We are finalizing rules via poll voting here quakelivebattles.shivtr.com/forums/1658180 Please only have your team captain vote and only after you register a team. Also, please do not check the Make My Vote Private check box when voting. Only votes by team captains will be counted. All private votes and non team captain votes will be considered null and void. Voting ends January 11. Feel free to join the Steam group, that is where all the information about the tournament is listed including schedule and rules etc. steamcommunity.com/groups/FT2016Thanks for the interest, good luck in the tourny!

Black Cathedral

If so... can we like cut that down by like half??

The size of the Map Pool, IMO, does not matter. It just gives the Teams more of a choice. More than likely, the Map choices between the Two Teams will be will be determined before they start. We could draw Maps out of a so called "Bag System", this way no one knows what Map they will play till it happens. Any Thoughts?

well... it matters to me. I know like 2 of those maps. So I gotta learn 11 maps!
Do ya'll really have team strategies for all those maps? It takes us like a week to come up with a strat for a map... and then a few weeks of practice. We're going to be running around like chickens with our head cut off.

Coca, I'll say this much at least- I came up with a lot of strats for these maps by watching QCon and old Quake TDM VODs, it's a great starting point (especially when 2GD is casting)! Also, the UFT server goes over these maps fairly frequently (or at least a decent portion of them), so that's always a good way to get used to them The main decision behind the specific map pool is to step away from the same maps that are always seen in pub play- to focus on maps that offer at least as much nuance and hidden skill, if not more than the standard maps like DM6 or Overkill. I mean, those maps do have a lot of skill requirement and knowledge to play- but again, they're a bit overdone these days (at least, that was my argument in favour of this particular map pool).

Sorry man, this is actually already a severely shortened version of the original map pool done as a compromise. Not to mention this is going to be a long tournament, probably a good 2+ months in length. This will provide a bit of variety to keep things more fresh and exciting. These are actually all fairly popular freeze tag maps that get played quite often.
Dont forget, you must register your team before January 18. All players on your team must register at challonge.com so your team captain can add them to your roster. You will need at least 5 members but I would suggest you add more so you can have subs as well. I'd hate to see a team lose by forfeit.

Sorry, but I have some more noob questions. Are we able to suggest rules to be voted on at quakelivebattles.shivtr.com/forums/1658180 or only vote on them? Is thaw radius a settable parameter? (distance from the body you can be and still thaw) What about thaw noise? (a noise that is made when thawing starts) Is there a thaw reset? (You have to restart the thawing process if you get knocked off the body) Will the map selection process at match time involve tossing? thanks!

The thaw radius will be whatever the standard thaw radius is that the Pill servers and UFT server uses. I'm sorry but I don't know what that is off the top of my head. I have no idea about the thaw noise. You can turn off gibs in your config and the snow effect will disappear which is very helpful. There is a thaw reset, if you get knocked off the body before completely thawing they will refreeze.
As far as voting, only the rules listed can be voted on. You can only vote after your team has registered for the tournament and only your team captain can vote. One vote per team.
First map pick will go to winner of the cointoss. All subsequent maps will be chosen by the losing team.
If you have any more questions I'd be happy to answer, thanks.

Coca cola, don't forget to register your team. As of right now your team is not registered for this tournament. You have until the 18th. I just want to make sure you guys dont get left out.
