Since work is a little slow at the moment I've found myself watching Zoot's stream and true lightning came up in chat. Quoting Syncerror, "Up to 80ms ping TL 1 is correct. But slightly higher pings TL between 0.75 and 1.0 has its benefits." Something to file away in the old mental notes. However, I've never known what true lightning settings do, then I looked it up. Some people claim to have improved accuracy using .8-.98 so I'm going to give .9 a shot and see what happens even though I mostly play on servers with less than 80 ping. So I'm curious, has anyone here messed with that setting and if so what setting do you guys use? My lg is subpar to average at best so I'm willing to give anything a shot.

I use /cg_truelightning 0.95
Well, I'm fairly sure I do. It's either that or 0.9. In general, since I started doing that my acc went closer to 30 or above 30 regularly for LG (Tier 4 CA. At T3 I regularly hit 30-50, depending on how I'm feeling that day). But don't forget to have proper positioning and timing when you use LG! And it's not all about the raw accuracy- someone who misses more can still hit more and do more damage. It's contextual!

I use .85. 1,is straight. Had problems with 1, as when you move, it keeps up. Had a harder time keeping it on target. With a little sway, I don't have to over compensate as much. Plenty of threads in QL Forums on this subject. I have read them all. My final conclusion came down to what was controllable no matter what my Ping was. Allthough my LG acc is in the middle, this is the best I can offer..  |

Just pulled this nugget of info from a google search.
if you want your shaft to appear in the place where it hits, including antilag effects, you need:
y=1 (ping 80ms or less)
y=80 / x (ping greater than 80ms)
x is ping in ms, y is value of cg_truelightning.

Nope not yet. Just copied and pasted it from here. steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=315482318 It's about a 1/3 of the way down under the heading True Lightning. On the right there's a list of links like a table of contents called a Guide Index. Click on Configs Part 2 then scroll up, it's directly above that. I'm guessing it came from the QL forums as it looks like it's a quote. Looks like it was originally posted by injx, then quoted by syncerror then quoted one more time for this guide. I'm sure willing to give it shot next time I'm on some random German server looking for some FT though, or maybe when my TX ping shoots up around 90. |
