Hey guys, this is SawtoothGrin. I just started my own clan *LN* Local Natives. I am having a hard time getting people to join in. I was wondering if you guys have any idea's that will help me. Also I like to add you guys are a friend of *LN*. Ill add you guys on my website and link your website. Also if you know some people wanting to join a lower skill clan send em my way. Thanks guys and once i get a roster i would like to do some friendly scrimages.

Hey welcome to the boards

I think to get started your first port of call is the quake forums that is where we recruit most of our players from.

Create a thread on the clan recruitment page stating what you are looking for.

If you are looking for mainly NA based players you will need to state that also.

Then it's just a bit of a waiting game.

Our main player base is EU, but we do have a few NA players so arranging a scrim might take a little bit of time as I will have to pester swampy and a few other NA players.

But shouldn't be too difficult to arrange if I have some time.

You also might want to try and speak to people in game while your playing.

pretty much agree with wooks. but if you want a scrim, I'm sure our EU players won't mind some >100 ping games too much ;)

Starting a new clan need people

Hello everyone,

I am starting a clan call *LN* Local Natives. This clan is going to be kinda like DRUNK clan. Its gonna be for all skill levels. My skills are not the best by any means so it's just going to be for fun. I plan on doing matches with other clans and stuff but really i just like the Comradery that comes with being in a clan, and helping each other get better at the game. Now even tho it is for fun I do plan on trying to be competive but im in no rush. I have not got the clan set up yet on here, plan on doing that today. But if anyone is interested hit me up. I started a website which is not done yet but you can send a message on there if your interested or just add me on here. Here is the website i got started. . It will be as for now a North American clan. I play pretty much all TDM, CA. I would like a partner to run the ctf too. I do not want anyone who is a ass hole. This game is meant for fun so this clan will be having fun, not taking this game to seriously.

To me personally that is just a wall of text which some people will probably take one look at and think errrrrrrr next page.

Try editing your post with some bullet points stating the main criteria.  Like Gametypes, Location of players wanted, your website, your forums.  You don't need the point about "I don't want anyone who is a ass hole" You just have to say something like looking for friendly players who want to have fun.  If they then turn out to be assholes then you can just deal with it when it happens.

We have over 200 members and have only had the odd incident of having to sort out silly behaviour.  It is quite a rare occurrence.

But your post on the quake forums needs to be more clear and concise so people can just look at it see the main points and make a decision.

Also once you have made some changes to your advert you will need to keep checking on it and to bump it with an update post about what is going on or some random rubbish like that.

When we started we never thought we would get so big or actually have 2 competitive sub clans.
We were more a tag.. But slowly things grew.. And we are now in our 4'th year..

I see you've got a web page going.. Good..

You might also go here and add an #irc channel for your clan. Lotta people will go to the #irc to check in, chat,etc.. And people wanting to join your clan can look for you there..

If your clan grows..then think about mumble or ..Good to  have for games and scrims..

I'll try to add more here as I think of things..

Don't hesitate to ask us for any help or advice! 

[EDIT]  Oh..And above all..Don't get too serious.. Keep the fun in the game and your members!
