News!
Prizes:
1st Place: 3 Month Prro Token + Reflex Steam Gift + possible special prize that is not yet confirmed
2nd Place: 1 Month Pro Token + Humble Bundle
3rd Place: 1 Month Pro Token
Furthermore, there will be 3 extra prizes for special achievements. These are secret, only wooks and I know them. I can obviously not receive said prizes since I know what I have to do in order to win them.
These 3 prizes are probably gonna be Humble Bundles. Some people mentioned they might provide some goodies so you might get more than that.
Pro Tokens provided by wooks, Humble Bundles and Reflex provided by yours truly.
Map Pool and Format:
The tournament is a standard double elimination bracket, every match is a best of three maps. Final is best of five.
The five maps are:
Battleforged
Blood Run
Cure
Dismemberment
Sinister
I feel like these maps provide a healthy mix of old classics, fresh new maps and underplayed maps. I hope you agree.
ban ban pick pick system - Cointoss, winner bans a map first. Loser bans a map. Winner picks first map, loser picks second map. Remaining map is the decider.
Since final is a best of five, all the maps might be played. Cointosss again, winner picks the first map. Loser of the previous map picks the next map until we have a winner.

Quick update.
We will be starting this tournament on Saturday 29th.
Here is how I imagine this to work out:
Every Saturday, we start playing at 19CET, I encourage everyone to be online on quake live.
We'll play as many duels as possible, will see how many people are online and how long everyone sticks around.
If someone doesn't turn up, you have the possibility to play the match during the following week. The last date to play it is the following Saturday. If you haven't played your match till then, your opponent will get a default win and progress to the next round. If neither of the players show up, I will decide the winner with a cointoss.
If you want, you can of course play your match before Saturday. I just find it convenient to have some sort of match day where everyone is supposed to be online and it's easy to find your opponent. It also gives the chance to maybe get some matches casted :)
Tournament brackets will be posted this week.
If anyone wants to stream, I'll gladly cast with you :) Otherwise I will stream with shi*ty quality :D

You really need to explain the procedure on creating the matches.
Maybe a group on steam? If people aren't going to arrange on irc?

I don't have access to a proper PC during christmas break so there won't be any matches I guess. If you wanna play, feel free to get in contact with your opponent and play your match.
