Okay the insta wing has no clanoff anymore and 3 peeps are already out. Need dramatically changes in it. Yesterday really pissed me off. Our last cup is 6 months ago,6! And how much improvement did i see??zero.zero. After al this work i did and all this arranging for the matches etc we lose 8/0 in 6 min!wtf I bet no one practiced pickups for this cups.(which im telling from the first cup we ever played) How did you think to improve?playing those easy noobish public games??forget it that wont happen, theyre only good for map knowledge. Okay no i've said that some examples of what not to do,what you normal should have learned in the pickup games with other teams against other clans etc. Japanese:I was like 4 times in the enemie garden with the flag waiting around the corner to run the last piece of the map to our base. I knew the enemies were waiting for me around that corner, asked for support every time. Not getting any. At some point i was waiting again with the flag there and see someone of us running to their base??Uhm??what where you expecting there was another flag in their base??while i asked for support and waiting there with the flag.Almost every time i was waiting in the middle i see al our players in our base. Base is for the fd al the rest defends from the mid!But now it comes with 7/0 cross cap,i made it the hole way to enemie base and back on my own tel my team im in our base with the flag and where is the team??For the first time in the match no one was in our base, leaving me alone with the flag with al enemies searching for me :/ They found me,i kill the first 1 and the other shoots me 8/0 and 6 min wasted. Okay what to do now?I suggest you all go play iffa and win those matches (50kills) in 6 min maximum. (That immediatly reminds you of the 6 min wasted time on jap) Play pickups as much as possible and hope the best for the next 3 coming ictf macthes I gonna ask a replacement for irieone and for the next wga or cb cup i will make some rules like not playing pickups not playing cups or something like that. Okay i needed to tell it and no go do some kills and practice the hell out of it XD HF-high frag

Yeah, yesterday was pretty frustrating! Which peeps are out Terror? Apart from practicing pickups, I think we need to practice more against other teams. Because sure, the people on pick up matches are more skilled, but they are less organized than the teams we play against, they've played hundreds of matches together and are like an oiled machine.

I would like to post a plead for Terrorj: Since we play too static, maybe you should arrange and rethink our playstyle - that is, on jap yesterday there should be 1 in base and 3 attack or even all 4 attack. We should move as a group so when one drops flag other takes it. Thats how our enemies won it, I think. We weren't overskilled in anything else but tactics. What good is a mid if the only one attacker that is gets killed again and again? We must move like a mobile castle, methinks. Only way to win this. And in ift the good thing is to band together aswell, forget about that whole GET TO DA CHOPPA thing with "get to the bridge" or "get to the quad room" thing. Get together in one room and HOLD IT. if we are together there will be always enough guys around to thaw the others. Just my 2 cents IMO. And we need to play in that exact team on and on on pickups. Maybe organize pickup games and join as a group. No team I ever knew in any walk of life ever acheived anything without working TOGETHER on a daily basis. And Tomacco, thanks a lot. Maybe I'm a mutated Pole or something AND Terror, if youre the captain you should arrange your troops and enforce orders - I know you need to play silently to concentrate, but when you stay silent all the time the team feels headless.

Just throwing some experience from TF2 competitive in... -communication is key. call out anything that might be important, such as enemy positions, health, timing etc. -practice is important, but everyone has some sort of skillcap. you can't expect someone to get better in a few weeks just by playing a lot. you usually see a great skill improvement in the first like 500 hours of a game, then you will get on a level where it seems impossible to get better, your skills develop slower at this point and it takes ages to improve -play as many comp. matches as possible. I think in quake the only possibility to do this is either pickup or having friends who organize these matches regularly. in TF2 we have an IRC channel where you can search for opponents but that doesn't really exist for quake. find friends who wanna play in a competitive format and who wanna improve. maybe ask other teams as well to arrange matches on a regular basis. if you have enough friends in your list, you can arrange a match pretty much any time. just ask 7 people if they wanna play, start a server, join a teamspeak/mumble and play. people above your skill level might also provide great advice and insight. -play more than 2 practice matches a week. I know this is difficult in QL because it's challenging to find another team that is willing to play, organizing is a lot harder than in TF2 unfortunately. -aim practice. find someone to play 1v1 with, or even 2v2. just play a few 1v1 matches every day. (preferably CA 1v1 because there are no items that determine who wins) that's probably all I have to throw in. just some friendly advice that might actually help you to get better as a team. ;)

Yup total right at some point your will almost not improve more.. But if the team plays worse then a half year ago then i got something to yell about Mars your not so into quake..there are irc channels for almost every gametype and thats where i want all cup players to learn. (there's also a drunk irc in case you didnt know ) They now only play public and thats like always playing ca t2 and suddenly in a match having t4 players against you. No matter how good you are in t2,they will own you just because youre not used to it. Its totally not difficult to find matches in those irc channels. Also we need to do something about our fast, because i was yelling and lolz said i wasnt giving orders... But stil when im playing i cant tel you al what to do,you need to learn what to do in which situation. And last I have to tel is look to other vids of other matches like the nc ictf and look where they take position, what they do,how they att and learn Okay no take out your rail and go kill something

I know there are channels for finding matches but it's not as easy as in TF2. I can go in ONE irc channel and ask for a match and play within 10 minutes. You might also wanna consider maincalling (that's how we call it in TF2). That means that one person gives orders and decides what to do, when to push etc etc. Basically one person that is the decision-maker.
