And your right,thats the same problem as I said,we need to secure our flag carrier!
And coordinate our attacks better,whe need to enter their base with at least 2 att at the same time.
Play some pickups when you have time,because I think your to much used to public servers in which you run easily trough the map.
I played them last sunday with kry and proph and their the best practice you can get.

Okay guys that looks pretty bad with 7 cup maps to learn :/
Most players not gonna be ready like this.
And before the cups start I simply will take a look at ictf-stats.com/
to see who has played most and highest results etc to make sure the best players are playing.
Still a month left...so work on it!

Ok, With Jorinde and Slippy busy with University commitments I will play some more iCTF matches over the coming weeks to give you an option as a reserve.

I won't be about to play in Monday's practice as I am busy with other things, but will join in for the rest of the sessions up until the tournament starts.

Send me the tag when you remember and I will get some practice in both on pubs (to get back to full swing) and then I will get over to the pickups for some more challenging matches.

There will be times I won't be available due to work trying to organise things for the WGA, but I will do my best to prioritise some time for matches.

As I have operation Korea to get finished

Any events or places I need to be post here or PM me so I know what's what and I don't miss too much.

Actually, I find I play better on iCTF if I dont play it hours straight in a row. I actually hit more if I play it occasionally, also most maps we already know anyway. Just not as a team in my opinion. Anyway if you see me around and want to play pickup, just ask me, most of the times I will

Uhm,you remember the ownage last cup!
Sow you think you gonna be better next cup without getting much better and without the practice everyone else does
I'm still learning things on those maps.
The more you play,the better your accuracy,the better your map knowledge and the easier you make runs with killing spawnpoints.We cant work together as a team because the most get killed.Even against an easy clan as 8.

We have improved,but I'm still not satisfied with that
Normal with pickups etc i'm better then them.
If we cant even beat 8 then whats the point of starting in a cup against even better clans.
So I keep encouraging you guys,practice,practice,practice We need to win!!!
Btw,pickups are epikt lately..barely no games...maybe because of all those teams who want matches for the nc.
yesterday been playing against the uk team and with the uk team.

1. we barely play together,in a standard line up, it's always changing, thats why other teams are more succesfull. I don't think individual skill really is that important. Offcourse we don't compare to ASD or Sh0g but I just don't believe hammering on solo game-play is the way to go, practice should be as a team which is more effective for cups.
Personally I feel the defending is pretty ok, always room for improvements of positioning perhaps. But yes, attack should be arranged better.

2. not playing = contributing to make the community even smaller, maybe that means the end of iCTF cups in the future. They are more then happy to have any clan playing, also this might encourage other people to participate in cups.

3. With playing less I mean, 15 games a day isn't really efficient practice compared to 4-5 games a day. You start making sloppy mistakes after a while and so keeping those mistakes in your system as you just learned to do it over and over again. That's just my experience with excessive playing.

4. I was a backup for a reason But I will play more ift and ictf again as of now

Lately I was on a few business trips so I wasn't playing. I will try to "get back".

I also find myself on a def position. Rarely attack, depends by the map. Jap castles has weird spawns, and shining forces is shittiest map ever. xD

Defending is much better now because we intercept them in the mid.
Att stil needs to get better.The main thing we have to learn is to wait for eachother,or come together.
I mostly of the time find myself waiting in their base and no ones coming so I have to go alone.
And then there's still not enouch/none support for our fc because the enemie is waiting with all their man in the mid.
Btw shog has played twice as much matches as me   omg!!!I need to play more XD
Nice improving I saw lately with prophy.(in the ictf and ft)
And still individual skill matters Look at the nc teams,random players put together and they play awesome.
And they havent practiced much together,the players now what to do and are good in what they do.And they are good in what they do because they practiced much
And as last I want to ask everybody their position for this year.

Wherever, after I get back into the swing of things I can play def - mid or attack (not at the same time though ) depending on who we are playing.

I'll get back to you after a few games to see what position I am preferring.

Team is sum of its parts IMO. So if one dude sucks, the team will fold right there. We all must be the best.
Yesterday we played a really EXCELLENT game on SF where we pressurized them in mid enough so they got angry and started being careless. Then we got 2 caps and we won.

On JC we got toally destroyed but that's b/c of the reasons Terrorj wrote.

I'd like to stay def but oif Terror finds more suitable place for me based on his opinion and analysis(apart from the thrash bin, ofc), I'm more than happy to enter that position.

I would like to emphasize how much easier it is to defend when you have team members calling out enemy positions, it makes the odds of being able to defeat a two or three man rush that little bit easier FthxWMarandom smiley ftw!
