Unfortunately I'm not surprised and unfortunately nothing will change as long as douchebaggery will appear to be "cool".
(similar statement could be done on how homophobic the atmosphere can be)

I took a look at fatuglyorslutty.com/ and found this video. I have not watched it yet, i hope it's interesting, but the like/don't like ratio and how pathetic the comments are make me to think these girls are right :/

There was a lot of harassing in my past, i had my fair share, im not an angel, but in my experience, women can be assholes too. I treat eveyone the same way, be it gal or boy. As long as someone isnt a jerk, i wont insult ppl. Im not sure how seriously ppl use words like "rape", i use them too when its apropriate, but never in a serious way. When ppl get absolutley destroyed by my LG, i call that "facerape", other call it WTFPWN, OWNAGE etc. I dont like saying OWNAGE, when i really own someone that means im not in the best place to improve.

I started playing QL like half year ago, yet have to see serious insults thrown at women, and ive seen quiet a lot of trashtalk. Racist comments are much more common lol, and sometimes only insulting to ppl outside of the conversation. I got polish friends for example and when they kill me, i used to threaten them with german tanks

With so many more players in BF3 and COD, you got a lot more assholes, enough to talk about.

I guess everyone of us had a share of insults thrown at us during our whole gaming time. If I ever took anything someone said on the internet seriously, I guess I would be selling cabages some where on the streets by now.. If someone gets angry cause they doing worse than you, hey just means you doing a got job owning the match xD and the insults are just a way to express how frustrating your awesomeness is to some players.. try to enjoy it xD
Have you ever seen pro's play? They barely talk and don't even look at the chat unless someone familiar comes in xD.. They know the deal and just tend to ignore it, like another instinct

As for girl in quake.. I believe I know (1, 2...4) 5, maybe 6.. and I pretty much flame all my friends (real life best friends, online, others).. But it's more of a friendly flame.. alot of sarcasm and just your usual lols to be honest.. I just get dizzy from serious conversations, unless it really has a meaning in it then sure.. but mostly it's just fun to have fun

Very interesting article, and very depressing. The stories I could tell...

Quake is not so bad though. It's actually one of the 'best' in that regard, mostly because nobody believes girls play that game anyway, so they either just treat you like one of the guys or ignore you.

The games with voice chat are the worst. Once you start talking on that is when the assholes find out and start wailing... for whatever reason. I don't get it. And I never will.

Yep on my servers the racists and sexists are the first to be kicked.. lol

Most n00bs don't know they can be kicked mid game so it's a big surprise to them.. lmao

open console and "?"
"?" will give you the server controls.
Then /player this will give you his player number
then /kickban 2
2 or whatever his player number is..

I get pretty disgusted sometimes, and because of my backround, it's sometimes a challenge for me to not be offended or take it personally.

Instead I like to remind myself of a couple of things. If someone's trying to put you down it's because they know you're above them. AND people who feel the need to be so offensive are almost always bitterly over compensating.

But, I haven't had too many problems on QL. But on other games it's almost as if they think there's a direct correlation between how well they play and their penis size. With the way some people whine you'd swear they just lost another inch.

Just my opinion.

I must say from my travels in Holland that's about right. Your guys are also freakishly tall. Whilst indulging in a bit of absynthe one particular stroll I was awfully tempted to start kicking the backs of knees. Nothing worse than a bad trip and being towered over.
