terror: I'm not really a good dodger, but I know what I need to improve to become one ;P
you need to combine long strafes with short strafes

my sens used to be 45cm/360 when I had my razer abyssus, but it broke and the new mouse weights more so I needed to adjust my sens and now it is 30cm/360...my lg got a little bit worse I think, while my rockets and rails are a bit more accurate

I don't play Quake a lot recently (Tribes stole my life :/ ) but we should duel again sometime, I'll try to catch you.

I might give Tribes a try too, wanna see if the teamplay is any good. Havent played a good teamplay based FPS since Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. But im still going to be a quaker. Every time i feel im stuck at something, i dont improve, i manage to pull out something amazing, something i could never do before. Laught at me you pro rocket jumpers, but yesterday i managed to do a rail to YA double rocket jump on DM6 (im terrible at rocket jumping), it was so smooth, like a leaf in the wind. Then i tried to do it again, and took 27 tries to reproduce (yeah, i actually counted). Stuff like this makes me want to play more, want to practice more. I dunno how good strafers you are, but when i first did the b2r jump without the need to aim for the small ledge, i knew i have to practice so i dont have to worry about missing it. Now i can do a really good CJ and manage to land at rail 6 out of 10 times. Going to practice more till i can do it 9 out of 10 times. That jump alone will teach you circle jumping to one side and after that, lane jumping on raztrain will be improved a lot.

On pubs teamplay is random, it really depends, sometimes everything goes smooth, sometimes you want to hang your team. But imo the game is pretty tolerant to pub server, much more than Quake, because teams are big (~12 on pubs, up to 16) and a lot of game styles are possible and useful to the team.
But there is one sure thing: without (even basic) teamplay you can't win (in offense you can't even grab a flag and in defense you can't even stop a capper).

But beware, I was told I sucked more than usual at Quake after playing Tribes Which is not that surprising, the pace and gameplay are so different.

Ye know, i play more games (only 1-2 hours a week lol), so you should see me playing Quake after i played a couple hours with Mass Effect or Skyrim ;D

I've been doing Urban Terror a lot.. Found a pretty active CTF server with a good ping and they rotate a huge amount of maps. The guys play fair and will switch sides after a game to help the losing team.

I hardly ever see someone taunting n00bs, etc,etc.. kinda nice after playing the vicious USA CTF QL servers.. lol

Think i played you yesterday in T3 CA? You are clearly T4, no clue why youve been in T3.

So, MARS, hows my LG and dodging? Im crap at rockets and positioning, thats why im bad in T4 still. That diszcsotany guy yesterday, i told hes top2 CA in Hungary, he got awesome LG after warmup, he was hitting me for 40-45 percent LG, while i could only hit him for 35%, i still consider that good, but im too much obsessed with LG lol, cant use the other weapons properly.

EDIT:
Mind if i do some recruiting? Got a few buddies in T3 CA, mostly UK folks (i play Maidenhead servers most of the time), strong in T3, a few T4 capable players, but they play T3 with handicap to stay there. I also might be able to get a few guys playing with us if needed and we can even scrim against them.

cant really tell how your lg/dodging is since I havent really played you much, some more duels and I can tell you.
But you really need to improve your rockets and rails...these are awful ;P
