These are the confirmed players thus far.

We will probably add 2 or 3 more players to cover the time difference because some people won't be able to play after a certain time etc etc.

But we're good.

Can you post the server settings that will be used so we can test them out.

Edit:  I'll also be streaming our matches from my POV if playing and everyone if i'm not.  Obviously if anyone has an issue with me "spec/streaming" then I won't.

I'm looking forward to this one..  I'm not sure what the rules are for speccing/streaming/follow killer demo yet. As a weak player I like to spec and demo..

Yea been there done that with admin work for clanbase and WGA.

Some people don't mind, others get completely paranoid about it.  I'll ask, if they object it's fine.  Not overly fussed about it that much.

I think the server settings are being hashed out. I'll ask funky to see if they are ready so everyone can try them out.

Server settings will be finalized on Monday when teams get done voting. Your team should pick one representative and vote.  Someone needs to register a name on ebattlegrounds.com anyway because that's where at least one person on the server needs to post a screenshot of each game's final score.  Then go ahead and vote on these questions, voting ends Monday morning when I wake up and look at the results.  quakelivebattles.shivtr.com/forums/1658180  btw - the first website I listed redirects to the second website, that's why they have different addresses.

Other than those rules, I can tell you this:
*team size 5 or if everyone unanimously decides to do 6 we can do that
*15 minute limit
*15 point limit
*Start with all weapons
*Winning team does not thaw between rounds
*Health/Armor is carried over between rounds
*Powerups (Quad/BS/Regen) Carry Over Between Rounds
*Self damage on
*No Universal Ammo boxes
*No item pie timers
*Drop Powerup On
*Drop Weapon On
*2 second thaw time

The following are the rules being voted on:
Looks to me like starting with 40 armor will win one of the votes
Probably autothaw will be set to 90 seconds
More than likely when the clock hits 0 the game will abruptly end, you will not complete the round
There's a good chance there will be no delay between rounds but this one could still go to either 2 seconds or 4 seconds
Team damage on or off is the closest in the voting, it could go either way


So its very close to ufreeze settings.  Could be voted into a straight ufreeze tournament.  I think that covers it, if you know of any other settings that need to be decided please let me know.

As far as streaming, I trust you so I don't mind but since you are on one of the teams that will be playing you should probably ask the opposing team if they mind.  I'm betting most won't mind.  You can definitely stream your game against DNA.

I don't know anything about setting up servers, whether its a series of boxes you check or some kind if file you need to upload or what so as soon as voting is over if there is some sort of file that needs to be made I'll ask Lint to make that file then I'll share it.  So look for that some time after Monday.  I'll post as soon as its done.

Ok you will need to speak to spiked about this or test it yourself.

But quake was pretty broken with regards to having no round count when we last played uFreeze, what happens is that you can't pick up any items for 2 or 3 seconds which then messes up the winning team because they can't even begin to heal.

So you have 5 fully stacked players against a team that is kinda punished by not being able to grab any items for 3 seconds.

They might have fixed it but I don't know.  Best off shouting spiked or testing it out yourself.

I am personally hoping there is no delay between rounds but currently the majority of the players in this tournament come from the Pill clan and their servers have about a 2 second round delay.  There is a short delay after the round is won that you can still pick up items but there is also a brief period of time as you described that you can not pick up anything.  It just makes for a different play style but it doesnt take much to adapt.  The reason I chose these specific rules to vote on is because I wanted to be able to draw players from that clan without making them feel railroaded into a ufreeze tournament.  I'm sort of catering to their clan a bit.

They are also used to having team damage off, item pie timers on and items such as Quad and BS expire at the end of the round.  My secret intention was to nudge them a bit closer to ufreeze settings in baby steps in hopes that if we played another tournament we could go straight ufreeze and they would be more comfortable with those settings.

So there really is a method to my madness lol.  But like I said, the last time I checked the vote totals it sort of looked like it might get voted into a straight ufreeze tournament anyway.  I guess we will see Monday morning.  Should be fun either way though.

Would prefer team damage on, but if it's off it just means we can spam more lolol

I just checked the vote totals...you do realize you voted for a 2 second delay between rounds, dont you?  I'm not sure if you can change your vote but if you want to please explicitly say that in the comments so everyone can see and know for sure what you want.  I don't want anyone thinking I'm going against the vote totals.  Kaboosh gets no vote so right now there is 3 votes for no delay and 2 votes for a 2 second delay if we count yours.

I did vote for 2 second delay.

But we're not overly concerned.  We will play whatever really.

My main concern was with the item pick up delay and trying to negate it a bit.  Hence I voted 2 second

Good deal, you can add as many players as you want up until the 18th.  That's the day all registration closes and teams are locked.
