It wouldn't be that bad if they allowed a better download speed.

All they allow me is either 246 or 256kbps which is just amazingly slow.

But spose can't complain as it's free.

I have now downloaded this, done the practice with the different characters. Going to have a few practice matches then throw myself in at the deep end

Yea it's free, just a monster of a file and takes ages.

Well yea that's basicly what steam does hehe. Just like their updates..never really notice the changes.

They have a new horde type mode called mann vs machine, might be a laugh if anyone is up for it, havent played tf2 in about 2 years though

The download took like 12 hours for me oO

Playing it since february and really enjoying it, I think I'm a above average player(at least in pubs), today I have my first match with my new clan, really excited about that
Got back to quake a little bit more so not playing it as much as I used to.
mann vs machine is really fun, would be great to get 6 people together on mumble and play it.
The game is totally free, you only have to pay for it if you wanna trade for items and hats and thats not really a big deal.

played it, liked it, quit it @_@.. might want to buy a hat for team fortress 2 to make your steam account FULL and invite some friends in your list to play with if you didnt do it yet.. cause if you go solo into team fortress theres little teamplay xD.. all people re-pick to the same type that has 1st place in the game, even if its a doctor that gets points by healing, not killing xD

you dont need to pay for the game to get 'teamplay'.
you can even join competitive teams without paying.

download took me 39days, when i first started downloading it i completely forgot about it, then one day it just popped up tf2 is finished downloading

although it´s an rather old thread I´d like to add, that TF2 was the second best game I ever played. regarding teamplay, tactics etc., this masterpiece comes close to quake (which of course is the best game ever played ).

however, it only developes its full potential when playing in a clan or similar.

most of you may know, that team fortress was originally a quake 1 mod, when the designers were hired by valve back in the days.

i loved TF2 - it was an awesome time playing it with my oldie clan

I've got a Steam Account..but I'm running Linux now. The good news is Steam is getting ready to support Linux and the games they have ported run 10-20% better FPS then Windows.
